The author is a man in his early 50s.  He has been an active church musician for over 35 years. 
  • He received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at 4 years of age.
  • He began his music training when 8 years old with piano lessons.
  • He added organ training at about 10 years of age.
  • Study of piano and organ continued through 8th grade.
  • While in junior high, he began playing in church, first playing for adult Sunday School classes and children's church.
  • At 14 years of age he won a national piano competition.
  • While in high school, he suspended organ training to concentrate on piano studies and music theory instruction.
  • During his high school years he became a regular church musician, playing for all church services, usually playing the organ but also playing the piano when needed.
  • He received a BA in Music Education from a small, Christian, liberal arts college.  While in college he received performance majors in piano, organ and vocal.
  • During his college years he continued to play for weekly church services, continuing to play the organ most of the time.
  • He taught in a Christian school for 6 years after his college years.
  • For the past 20 years he has worked with not-for-profit, charitable organizations.
  • As an adult he continues to play for regular, weekly church services, most of the time at the piano.
